Italian language classes
If you want to learn Italian, the smartest thing to do is to go to Italy! Meet the locals, walk the walk, talk the talk! Our remarkably skilled teachers are native speakers of Italian, they also speak English and Norwegian. Our Italian language classes run in the mornings, Monday to Friday. The courses take place in Salotto Accademico´s beautiful piano nobile in Cannaregio. You´ll have the afternoon off, or maybe you´ll want to sign up for a class of Italian Film and Philosophy? Gastronomy / Food and Wine
Would you like to know more about Venetian cuisine? Learn how to make the well known apetizers, cicchetti, or how to prepare the traditional dish sarde in saor. We´ll introduce you to the local food and wine traditions, and tell you more about the story behind Spritz and the Italian aperitivo. We´ll visit the local fish market and even take day trips to two vinyards, one in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the other one in the beautiful Venetian lagoon. Get ready for a culinary adventure! The course is in Norwegian, English and some Italian. Hosted by Salotto Accademico´s Maj-Britt Aagaard.

Italian Cinema and Philosophy
What do you know about Italian Cinema and Italian Philosophy? Would you like to know more? The city of Venice is like a film set itself and has been an inspiration to many film directors. Truls Lie will take us on a journey of Italian film history with a philosophical perspective. Learn more about great directors like Visconti, Antonioni Pasolini and Sorrentino and philosophers like Agamben and Deleuze. We´ll watch clips and movies, we´ll analyze and discuss their plots and subject matters, and we´ll go to Lido di Venezia where scenes from the legendary movie "Death in Venice" were shot.
